The editor of this site is Dr. Jonathan Strand, Professor of Philosophy at Concordia University of Edmonton. Everything wrong here is entirely his fault.
Jonathan has been a member of the Faculty at Concordia since 1994. From 2008 to 2015 he served time in administrative purgatory—as Associate Vice President Student Services, Dean of Arts and Science, Dean of Undergraduate Studies, Assoc. Vice President Academic, Vice President Academic, and Principal of Concordia’s proposed School of Theology.
Before coming to Concordia he taught for three years at Valparaiso University, after earning his PhD in Philosophy at the University of Notre Dame. There he had the enormous privilege of studying under Alvin Plantinga, who served as his dissertation director. He was awarded the Graduate School Award in the Humanities.
Before that he earned an MDiv from the Association Free Lutheran Theological Seminary in Minnesota, after earning his BA in Philosophy from the University of Minnesota, summa cum laude.
He was born in Tioga, North Dakota and grew up in New Hope, Minnesota.
He has an amazing wife (only one, for his entire life!—Ruth) and three grown children (Justin, Alicia, and Erin).
He thinks it’s weird to write about yourself in the third person.
